Set Free to Live Free by Saundra Dalton-Smith MD

A Physician Shows How Our Physical Health
Is Impacted By Spiritual and Mental Choices

Discover the seven lies women believe about themselves and how they can overcome them

Author Saundra Dalton-Smith, a practicing physician, shows women how to break free from fear, insecurity, and other lies they tell themselves into a life of health and balance in Set Free to Live Free. Smith shares with readers how one patient reshaped her practice and approach to medicine. One day, a patient entered her office, and as Smith listened, she recognized she would need to work closely with this patient if she was to get better. She could not simply offer the latest medications, but would instead need to walk with the patient and help her become free from the lies that had impacted her physical health. Readers will journey with this patient and others as Smith shares how their triumphs became her motivation to see others free.

Imagine life with unlimited possibility, where fear, misconceptions, and insecurities don't have the power to rob us of our potential or our dreams. Many women have trouble seeing this vision, because they are bound by mental ties that keep them from living free. In Set Free to Live Free, Smith will show women how to break free from seven mental ties that hold them back: perfection, envy, image, balance, control, emotions, and limits. She encourages women to embrace spontaneity, be transparent, nurture their bodies, and cultivate a balanced life through compassionate and inspirational writing.

A study guide is provided at the end of the book outlining each chapter with discussion questions.

In her book Set Free to Live Free, author Saundra Dalton-Smith covers 7 lies women tell themselves and ways to break free from believing those lies.  She gives 5 stages to freedom in her book.  I loved the comment she made:
We can't change our genetics, but we can change our perspective.
What a difference perspective has on what we think and believe.  This book is very simple and down to earth nothing hard about understanding it.  Saundra doesn't use big words.  She just tells it like it is.  She takes two chapters to cover each lie.  In those chapters she covers the 5 stages to freedom for that lie.  Very well written and very easy reading.  The author supplies Scriptures to help with each lie.  What better way to fight the Devil than with the Sword of Truth.  If you feel you need to be set free from the lies that Satan has thrown at you then this reading this book would be a wonderful place to get started.  At the end of the book is also an 8 week group study guide if you wish to do this book as a group study.

1.) The title of your book Set Free to Live Free ~ What do you mean by Live Free?

Living free is a way of thinking that releases you to enjoying more of your life. What would you do if your insecurities were not standing before you? What dream keeps resurfacing that makes you shake with fear of failure? What do you love to do but no longer do because you can't find the time? Living free means you break past whatever limitations are holding you back from stepping out by faith with God. You become unbound from your fears and insecurities and expand your vision of God’s good plan for your life.

2.) What inspired you to write this book?

I see a lot of women daily who deal with lies (mental ties) within their life. Some I am able to personally help work through issues and others become victims of my appointment time restraints. Every time I had to cut a visit short due to my schedule, I would be at home wishing I had something in writing that I could have given that patient which shared all I wanted to say. I started out with the idea of doing bible-based medical handouts and it progressed to a book.

3.) How important do you think this book subject is in our fast paced world today?

It’s more important now than ever. There was a published study in 2008 which suggested that women are more unhappy now than they were 30 years ago and they concluded that the reason is because women have too many options and have overextended themselves. In essence, freedom is robbing women of their joy. Set Free to Live Free helps women take back their happiness and still retain the rights to be a Proverbs 31 woman exploring all the talents God’s placed within her.

4.) Have you written any other books? If so are they non-fiction also?

Set Free to Live Free is my first published book.

5.) How could someone get in touch with you please supply web site/blog, etc.

You can visit www.setfreetolivefreebook.com. The entire first chapter of the book is available on the site for download. On the site you can also click the links to connect with me on Facebook and Twitter.

I want to take the time to thank you for answering these questions so that my readers could get to know a little more about the book.
